Let’s get one thing straight: everyone loves free Wi-Fi, right? A lot of us depend on Wi-Fi for work, especially if you’re out on the field a lot with your clients. But what happens when you’re out traveling and you’re not too familiar with the area? Perhaps you’re in a part of town where there isn’t a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or Seattle’s Best on every corner and you can’t use your data because, well, your kids went overboard watching the entire season of Yo Gabba Gabba and now you’re out of data for the month. So what do you do?
This is where Wi-Fi Finder will come in handy. Wi-Fi Finder is a free app that’s available for both Android and iOS devices. This app will especially come in handy for those who rely on a tablet to do the majority of their business while out in the field.
Wi-Fi Finder does exactly what the name says—it will help you find free or paid Wi-Fi wherever you go. According to JiWire (the makers of the app), Wi-Fi Finder uses “the GPS function of your [phone]…telling you exactly where the closest Wi-Fi hotspot is, and how to get there. If you prefer certain providers such as Comcast, you’ll be able to see which hotspots are served by those providers. You can also filter by location type (restaurant, café, hotel, etc…). When you find the location you want to use, you’ll be given a phone number and directions on how to get there.”
Never again will you have to be without Wi-Fi access!
